Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson in same group at Doral
Phil and Tiger paired in the first 2 rounds at Doral! This is what the new pairing format from the tour is suppose to do. It makes for great TV and it seems to be working.
The world ranking numbers fell just right for many fans and this week’s World Golf Championship-Cadillac Championship on Doral’s TPC Blue Monster.
With world ranking determining groupings, the PGA Tour’s two most popular players, No. 5 Tiger Woods and No. 6 Phil Mickelson, will spend the first 36 holes together. The group, completed by Ireland’s Graeme McDowell, ironically the highest ranking member of the group at No. 4, will tee off at 11:51 a.m. Thursday from the 10th hole and 12:54 Friday from hole No. 1.
